Milford knows good stonework better than almost any town in Massachusetts — this is the home of Milford pink granite.

Masonry contractor in Milford.

From roughly 1870 to 1940, Milford's quarries shipped its famous pink granite across the country — it's in the Boston Public Library, the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, and New York's old Penn Station, and by 1900 more than a thousand men worked the town's quarries. You can still see the stone locally in Memorial Hall and in the granite foundations, steps, and trim of the town's older homes. Working in Milford means respecting that standard: granite foundations and steps that deserve proper repair, brick from the town's boot-factory era set in lime mortar, and newer masonry that just needs honest maintenance. A town built on stone deserves repairs that live up to it.
